Patterned Running Leggings

One of the things I’m probably asked most often is where to find funky, colourful, patterned running leggings. It is an eternal struggle chicas. It seems the majority of the sporting world believe we just like our leggings to come in a variety of black with fluorescent pink piping. Delightful. However, some brands are starting to cotton on to our frustrations and every now and then, some fashionable, functional leggings come along. Yay for being stylish when you run!

These are some of the my favourites that I’ve seen kicking around the web at the moment.

Nike – I love me some Nike, so they’re always my go-to brand for leggings. I’ve seen quite a few girls pounding the pavements in these recently. They come in three colourways. A nice way to light up your legs on these chilly winter runs.

Asics – These are from Asics more boutique line called Ayami. I came across this collection last year and was pleasantly surprised as, well, in all honesty, I find a lot of Asics stuff to heavily favour the function side of things with little consideration for style. But the select few Ayami pieces are really nice. These leggings come in a black and grey colourway also.

Black Milk - OK, so technically, these aren’t running leggings, but they’re Lycra and they’ll get the job done, but more to the point, HELLO! Tetris leggings! I love Black Milk leggings. They’re the perfect cross over for those who like to run in style. (Their pricing is in Australian dollars. G’day!)

LuluLemon – As a Canadian, I am contractually obliged to love all things LuluLemon, but they make it pretty easy. Yes, it’s pricey, but the quality speaks for itself. The detail in these leggings is pretty special. A definite must if you’re willing to splurge a bit.

H&M – In case you didn’t know, H&M have a pretty sweet little sportswear line going on. How cute are these leggings? And let’s just all take a moment to praise the H&M price point *round of applause*. If you’re not looking to break the bank, this is the way to go. (They have some super cute sports bras too).

Love the Tetris leggings! Just a heads up, the guy behind black milk is also planning to do running leggings, he’s currently “perfecting” them ;)

interestingly just a newstory about a new brand which is going up against LuluLemon
    http://www.ellie.com

They are buying the fabrics as LuluLemon but using social media to test the waters first, asking what buyers want and then manufacturing them. (No I don’t work for LuluLemon in case you ask!)

Clever way to using the customer to influence the new lines- and hopefully much cheaper!

Thanks for this bangs, this post came at the perfect time as I’m after new leggings. My only querey are the black milk ones. I’ve got a pair but the thought of running in them is a bit odd as they feel so different from my beloved nike pair. Think I just need to suck it up and give it a try

Nice blog about running tights – We will be launching GymLuxe in late Spring so keep an eye out for us and follow on twitter for updates. Everyone just watch out if running and or exercising in non-spec fabric leggings. May start out looking great but big risk of baggin, falling down or shown a nice big sweat patch in the crotch – Dont want to look like an ad for tenalady!!!

Hey loving the coloured leggings but if you’re pregnant and still exercising take a look at the FittaMamma range (www.fittamamma.com) – yes, they’re black – but they’re designed especially for pregnant women so they have a lovely wide panel that actually supports the bump to make exercise much more comfortable. And they don’t fall down or show off your knickers in a downward dog!
