Support Fawn Dorr!
I wrote about Fawn Dorr back when I first launched this site. I won’t lie, for me, it’s one of the most fascinating interviews I’ve ever done and led to a pretty instant girl crush. Never have I been so inspired by someone’s passion and drive.
Over the years, I’ve watched her inch ever closer to her goals, suffer set backs, but never, ever give up. She missed her chance to compete in the London 2012 Olympics by one spot (the heartbreak of which, I can’t even imagine). She’s continued to work her ass off, strive to get better and do whatever it takes to do so, despite losing her sponsorship and funding.
Fawn’s ultimate goal is to make it to the Rio Olympics in 2016. The process to get there involves training camps and competitions, none of which are free. That’s where we come in. Fawn is looking for funding to help her achieve her ultimate dream and I cannot stress enough how deserving she is of this opportunity.
This is her last chance to get to the Olympics. We are a powerful network of badass women and together we can uplift and empower this incredible athlete to finally be able to showcase her talents on the world stage. Let’s come together and help her do this.
She has launched a Go Fund Me page – please head on over there and make a donation.
ELLE Magazine (of which I’m now the Fitness Editor – woo hoo!) has a wonderful campaign called #ELLEfeminism at the moment. The strap line is: One woman’s success makes EVERY WOMAN STRONGER.
That is so true in this case – seeing Fawn Dorr achieve this goal would do so much for so many. Let’s do our part and make it a reality.
