Spikes Style: Werq

WERQ-1

The fusion of fashion and activewear has been on the rise over the past couple of years, for sure, but my friend Petra Bender, easily one of the most stylish people I know, was owning that whole thing before it ever became a trend. She has now, FINALLY, taken the steps to launch her own brand.

I’ve been so excited to watch her journey as she is truly a seriously talented (and just generally lovely) individual.

The blurb about her line, WERQ, says:

Envisioning a world of luxury sports, WERQ by Petra Bender first self-created brand. Her inspiration comes equally from the chaos and fast pace of bustling city streets, and serene and spiritual nature of her native Iceland. This collection incorporates comfortable shapes with the sharp aesthetic of high-end sportswear.

WERQ-2

Petra is currently crowd funding to make her first collection. Please check out her video (below) and her crowd funding page and donate whatever you can. Talent like this deserves to be nurtured and supported. I can’t wait to see Petra’s line come to life and if you’re a fan of kick ass streetwear with an activewear lean, you should be excited too.

Good for her! Good luck to Werq!

  2. Great job! As a fashion lover, I always hated that activewear was so far removed from modern trends and style. I’m so glad to see a great brand fusing the two worlds together.
