Adidas Introduce Boost

Technology can just blow your mind at the best of times eh? But one area where where the continual development of technological advancements can just make your head spin is in running shoes. Next week, Adidas are set to launch Boost, a new cushioning system which they claim will revolutionise the running industry. In the market for some new running shoes? These may be the ones for you.

I’ll be in New York next week for the launch and judging by the buzz flying around already, it should be a pretty interesting. Here’s what we know about Boost so far:

  • Energy capsules, which make up the footwear’s distinctive midsole, store and unleash energy more efficiently in every stride
  • It holds its performance in almost any condition at unparalleled levels; tests revealed that, when taken from +40  to -20 degrees Celsius, BOOST™ foam is three times more temperature-resistant than standard EVA material
  • The upper on the Energy Boost features adidas Techfit technology

I’m excited to get my hands on a pair (or should I say ‘my feet in them’?) and see if they do what they say on the tin. I shall be reporting live from the launch in New York next week, so stay tuned amigos!

Interesting that they’re going for the OPPOSITE of the barefoot running trend. Which I suppose shouldn’t really be called a trend, considering padded trainers are like… pretty new compared to the bare foot.
