A Thank You

Spikes&Heels

A year ago today, I launched this site. I’d become frustrated by the majority of fitness media aimed at women. With the way myself and the women around me like to train, I knew there had to be a change. There had to be something out there for women who push themselves, women who go beyond the stereotypical fitness classes that are aimed at us, women who experiment with the limits their bodies can take them. I wanted my site to be almost an homage to these incredible women, a place where we can push each other, encourage each other and learn more. A place to celebrate the beauty in strength. A year on, this site has become more than I ever expected. And I just wanted to take time out to thank you.

Over the past year I have learned so much. It’s been an honour to share my own fitness journey with you and introduce you to the journeys of others. I am passionate about women embracing all they can be through fitness and about encouraging women who aspire to do just that. I feel a real sense of responsibility to any women who’s ever felt inspired by my journey.

This site is just the beginning of what I have planned. I’m so excited about what lies ahead and about continuing do all I can to push a positive message for women in fitness.

Thank you all so much for taking time out to read this site every day. Thank you for sharing your stories, offering me encouragement and showing that yes, we can be fit and feminine. We can have muscles and still wear heels. We are badass and I really feel that together, we are making a change.

Thank you.

Thank you writing and being so inspiring! I really appreciate your perspective and thoughts on the fitness world – you even inspired me to run my first half marathon a month ago. Keep being badass!

Wow, that year has gone by quickly! I have been reading from the start and I can honestly say that I enjoy every post. I’m not a runner but I still enjoy reading about you running! No one in “real life” really gets how much I am into fitness, other than people I know at the gym, so it’s great to find spaces like this online where I can read about it and interact with other like minded individuals.

Keep up the excellent work! Here’s to another great year.

  3. Great blog posts! Keep up the cool work you set yourself a high standard :)

  4. Congrats on this great milestone!! Keep up the good work. Blogging, I know, is not always easy but what a great channel to reach out to the rest of the world.

I’ve only just found this site – its fantastic! I run multiple marathons each year, and I train hard – gives me such a high! It’s nice to read about like-minded people as I find that really motivational. Great healthy attitude :-)

No – Thank YOU. Who knew running for running sake would be the start of my new healthy life. A fact my wedding album will appreciate in August. I am more confident and comfortable in myself than I have been in a few years. And each side of my grin will be genuine and unforced in my new found self worth. I’m Pretty on rest days, and unstoppable on others. THANK YOU.
